2. Student Visa

Pathway Student Visa
This visa allows you to study up to 3 courses, one after the other, on a single student visa. You must have a Pathway Student Visa offer of place and the funds to pay for your tuition fees.

- Work part-time up to 20 hours a week while studying and full-time in the holidays, depending on your course of study.

Guardian of a Student Visitor Visa
If you are a parent or legal guardian of a child who is in New Zealand on a student visa you can apply for this visa to live with and care for your child.
With this visa you can

Valid for the same time as the visa of the student you are accompanying.

Fee Paying Student Visa
Apply for this visa to study full-time in New Zealand. You will need to pay the full cost of your courses and enroll with an approved education provider.
With this visa you can
- Study full-time at the course stated on your visa – this includes schools, tertiary (study after secondary school) and English language study. Student visa conditions require you to attend the place of study endorsed on your visa.
- Work part-time up to 20 hours a week while studying or full-time in the holidays, depending on your visa conditions.
- Live by yourself above a certain age, otherwise you will need to come with your parent or legal guardian.

3. Work Visa

Skilled Migrant Category Resident Visa
This visa is for people who have skills that will contribute to New Zealand’s economic growth. Before you can apply, you will need to send us an expression of interest (EOI), that details your work experience and qualifications.

Straight to Residence Visa
Apply for this visa if you work for an accredited employer or you have a job offer from one and your role is on Tier 1 of the Green List.
With this visa you can
- Live, work and study in New Zealand.
- Include your partner and dependent children aged 24 and under in your residence application.

Your role must be on Tier 1 of the Green List and meet the requirements set out in the Green List for your role.
Post Study Work Visa
You can apply for this visa if you have recently finished your studies in New Zealand. It allows you to stay and work here for up to 3 years, depending on what you studied.
With this visa you can
- Stay for 3 years depending on your level of study and how long you studied in New Zealand.
- Work for any employer in any job if you have a degree level 7 or above qualification.
- Work in a job that is related to what you studied if your qualification is nondegree level 7 or below. Your qualification must also be on the qualifications eligible for a Post Study Work Visa list.
